The City of Hollywood is honored to have Patrick Knight, an international speaker and trainer, to facilitate this series. Patrick has been involved in many charitable and civic organizations in leadership roles. Patrick has taught more than 350 seminars in twenty-five different states and thirty other countries. He has authored numerous leadership articles and manuals and has helped design Junior Chamber International (JCI) courses. In 2012, Patrick had a book published called: Blessed to Survive – The Thanksgiving Day Massacre, which details his triumph over tragedy after falling victim to one of the worst mass shootings in South Florida history. Mr. Knight prefers to think of himself as a facilitator, rather than a lecturer. “It is important to listen to the needs, wants and concerns of the participants so that they are involved in the workshop” says Patrick. At the same time, real tips and techniques will be offered from the front of the room, as well. “Any activities, role-plays or discussion groups will be done with the entire audience to reinforce concepts presented in the workshops”.
This workshop series will provide hands-on leadership training that emphasizes community building principles and strategies, project planning, organizational leadership and management practices, as well as personal leadership skills.
Workshop participants may consist of civic and neighborhood association members, community leaders, resident volunteers, community-based organization staff, business owners, local government staff, and municipal elected officials. Participants who engage in the entire workshop series will receive a certificate.
*Due to the capacity and availability, the Boulevard Heights Community was selected for this series. Future workshops may be held at other locations in the City.
